Meet Wally: My Loyal (and Nugget-Loving) Sidekick

Wally is my 10-year-old Aussie shepherd who perfectly balances being both a couch potato and an energy ball. He’s happiest lounging behind my computer chair, napping as I work, but the second you say the word “car” (and trust me, it’s not the jingle of keys but the word itself), he’s wide awake, ready to grab his lead — or even my wallet if he’s feeling cheeky.

But nothing makes Wally’s heart race quite like Maccas. Twice, he’s made a daring escape, and both times, we found him en route to McDonald’s! His love for chicken nuggies is real — on a road trip, he even started hyperventilating when he spotted those golden arches. Safe to say, his priorities are clear.

Our mornings start with a quick visit to my bed for some butt scratches, followed by his outside routine (house-trained, thank goodness). He’s a creature of habit but loves following me around, always keeping me company. We have our little rituals — nose boops, lazy cuddles — though bed snuggles only happen if I’m really sick, as if he knows I need that extra comfort.

 

From his adventures toward Maccas to his laid-back moments by my side, Wally brings joy, warmth, and a bit of mischief to my everyday life. He’s the perfect blend of energy and relaxation, and no day feels complete without his quirky presence nearby.
